Heaven City has finally been released!

It's been a challenging as this year's journey and development of the game, which, as it turns out, was not wasted along with the effort spent on it. The game was supposed to be released back in early February (6th to be exact), it ended up being 6-7 months away, just like Cyberpunk 2077.

The story of the game's development begins in mid-December last year, that is 2021. Before that there were several other concepts and ideas for games, but it was decided to stop at the text quest. Accordingly, the game engine was RenPy. Easy programming language, optimization, plugins, etc. That said, the game also had a different concept before that: it could have been a 2D Pixel Art exploration (or walking, as they say) simulator. Most of the game took place in abandoned subways, in general, in the best traditions of diggers. That said, the latter is present in part in the final concept. The final concept is a textual quest and a mix of settings: post-apocalyptic - an abandoned paradise city, cyberpunk and a bit of surrealism with horror. A huge part of the game was inspired by the underrated sci-fi movie Archive (2020). So the parallels can be seen...

The script and a small visual (it's a text quest, after all) of the game were made closer to the end of January this year. The rest - improvements: adding more visuals, fixing bugs and bugs, localization into English and so on. By the end of January the game was ready. There were also social networks and services ready to promote the text quest at the beginning of February. There was a page at itch.io ready (by the way, it is still there in the drafts: the last change - March 22, 2022). There was a problem with PayPal, because the site only supported it and Stripe. While tech support solved the problems with the card for two weeks, it was February 24, and... everything went through the same thing.

I will not describe everything in detail, but I came to my senses and realized everything only in the middle of this summer, in July. I worked this summer as a designer, and rewriter, etc., but it was still not enough and did not make me happy and satisfied. At the end of August I started looking for Russian analogues of the stores (I tried to find them in spring and February too, despite my little free time), because it shouldn't be like that anymore. In the end I found RuStore - the Russian analog of Google Play with a good design. I immediately rejoiced, I thought to optimize the text quest for phones, as immediately saddened. Self-employed people are not allowed to post the game, and if you want to post, you still need to register in VK, which I do not like and did not even register for the promotion of text quest there.

However, the next day I found a miracle, a real panacea called "Keyga.me", thanks to the query "Russian analogue of Steam". Honestly, I was shocked that such a site had gone unnoticed. Great design, idea and conditions for developers, etc. All in all, I figured out the store, created a page for the game, published a video of it on youtube and on this site the game.

I certainly don't think the game is a masterpiece, but a lot of effort and effort has been put into it. I would like to say, never lose hope; every day is a struggle and you have to win, because you're a fighter... Well, and to the classics: "This is my first game, don't judge me harshly".

As for Keyga.me, the service needs to evolve in terms of marketing and outreach. It turns out to be a kind of "humble marketing." I found out about it purely by accident, from google. I wish the team of the site all the best.

I hope you enjoy the game!
